Have You Heard? |
Exciting things are happening!!
You're invited - you're encouraged! - to take part in this wonderful plan to enhance our capabilities and opportunities for ministry to our present church family, our future church family, our community, and beyond. Help make this happen!
What does it involve?
It's a 3-year plan to fix some pressing problems in our 50-year-old church building - to make enhancements that will help us minister more effectively - and to bring new focus on vital mission outreach to the community and abroad.
This is a spiritual journey, one that will strengthen us as a church family and help us grow in faith. We will be better equipped to continue spreading God's good news and ministering in His name
What kind of enhancements are being envisioned?
We want to improve the overall usability and accessibility of our church - by air-conditioning Webster Hall and the parlor, adding an elevator, and providing larger, up-to-date handicapped-accessible restrooms, to name just a few examples. New glass front doors will give us a more welcoming and friendly look, and an expanded Narthex will facilitate greeting and fellowship.
This will help us to extend our Christian hospitality to people as soon as they come through our doors, attracting those who might wish to join us in doing God's work here.
Come and see the drawings and all the plans in Webster Hall - ask questions . . .
get the Vision!
What about the mission outreach?
We've made the commitment that 10% of the Vision for the Hill fund will support new mission outreach. Sharing what we have is an integral part of the plan - to make a difference for Christ beyond what we do here in our own church.
We're excited that much of this tithe will go to an expanded partnership with Aslan Youth Ministries - to help their work in Red Bank and Asbury Park, and also in Haiti. Some of our church people have recently traveled with Aslan to Haiti and can attest to the tremendous need and opportunity.
Our Tower Hill Youth are already raising funds for specific projects in Haiti. Their enthusiasm is so contagious!
What's happening and when?
Vision for the Hill officially launches on the weekend of April 6th - packets of detailed information will be available then. Don't miss the special sermon series and guest speakers in April. The youth and children will also be involved in special Vision for the Hill activities.
Commitment weekend is May 3rd & 4th, when we will dedicate our individual resources to the Vision for the Hill Fund along with our annual Operating and Capital Funds.
Some construction and repair work is already underway, and work is expected to continue over the next three years.
Why should each of us help with the Vision for the Hill campaign?
Over fifty years ago our church family had a vision, too, and built this church. Now it's our turn to step up - to fix what needs fixing and to update our facilities to function more effectively, now and for future generations.
We are confident that this experience will enrich us spiritually - nurturing us on our faith journeys. This will be a great time in the life and growth of our church!
Please pray for this venture and how God will lead each of us to participate.
